Vin T. Dang

Dry Eye Clinic Director

Dr. Vin T. Dang was born in Paris, France, and grew up in and around the suburbs of The City of Light. He moved with his family from Paris to the United States at the age of 16 and relocated to our great state of California. Dr. Dang earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California in San Diego and went on to receive his Doctorate in Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. He continued his educational pursuit by achieving his Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in the fall of 2016.

 

As the Director of our Dry Eye Center of Excellence, Dr. Dang’s clinical focus centers on the complex treatment of ocular surface diseases including dry eye disease, ocular allergy, and blepharitis. He serves as the area’s leader in the treatment and management of complex ocular disease, and can frequently be seen providing continuing education lectures and courses to his peers at local meetings as well as international conferences of eye care providers.

 

At Empire Eye and Laser Center, we prioritize patient care by utilizing the latest treatment procedures to treat and correct the many causes of Dry Eye. This includes IPL, Lipiflow®, TearCare, Blephex, and ZEST to improve the lives of our patients.

Dr. Dang also provides comprehensive eye care, including diagnosing and treating medical eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy.

 

Dr. Dang is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), California Optometric Association, and currently serves as president of the Kern County Optometric Society. He serves as the residency coordinator at Empire Eye and Laser Center and coaches new residents on how to sharpen their clinical skills after graduation. Dr. Dang is fluent in both French and Cantonese.

 

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Dang is always on the lookout for the newest technology and trying out electronic gadgets. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling with his family and playing Pickleball – the fastest-growing sport in America.
